A View from the Top

I had the honor of enjoying this view in the company of the fabulous Tess Weaver yesterday, and it rocked my socks off.  Fun makeup stuff tomorrow, lovelies…so for now, just enjoy this scene with me!

 

The Fragile State

I’m feeling pretty fragile today.  I sent off fifteen email queries for my book and within an hour, received three rejection replies. Whaaaat.  Granted they weren’t in my first round picks for being the most compatible literary agency for my novel content.  But all three were glaring reminders that this dream of writing may be a big flop.  Then what.  What will I do with my life?  There is no plan after this.

Over the course of writing this blog, I began to play with the idea of writing fiction.  It was my sister that suggested I start to write for fun…and since I always take her suggestions to heart, I wondered and pondered and waited.

I remember the exact moment that I felt inspired by the beginnings of this story.  A simple phone call, obviously a mistake, but there it was!  And so I formulated this idea from my imagination and own experiences.  And while this story has shifted and wiggled into a being that I hadn’t anticipated, I love the finished product.  The question is, will others??

And that’s what I’m leaving you with today.

The Shopping List

It’s taken almost a full year for me to figure out what is most needed for our apartment life as a married couple.   While little things like this new picture frame I scooped up from Etsy brighten my day, not-as-fun things like organization for Ethan’s everyday gear and storage for used towels are still a must!  While making the list of still-needs, I evaluated my closet and threw a few clothing necessities on it as well.  What have you been living without the past few months that would make things much easier/convenient for you?
