So I know I said I wasn’t posting again until NYE, but waking up thinking about last year and how quickly 2012 flew by compelled me to share. Last year right before Christmas Eve, Ethan surprised me over a takeout Chinese dinner with my family by proposing (with the very best fortune cookie I’ve ever received). I was so oblivious to the clues of the entire night, I laughed out in surprise and excitement! But once Ethan was on his knee and opening the ring box. I knew it was all really happening. Tears filled my eyes. My family cheered, and Amanda snapped a few pictures. We slow-danced next to the tree and I was still in disbelief. Such a surreal night.
The next day we went to the Christmas tree farm with Ethan’s family to find the perfect (last-minute) tree. My soon to be sister-in-law snapped this picture of us, and since then, in my mind, it has become our only engagement photo. At the time I had no clue I’d be married in three months, living in Alaska in six, and spending a quiet Christmas with my silly beautiful man a year after (and I can’t not include Simon, I got him just a month later!).
Thank you for reading and following our journey. I truly hope you have a wonderful Christmas holiday & enjoy the last days of your 2012! See you again in a week.
