Happy Monday, folks! I admit I have been dreading this particular Monday, as it means I am that much closer to this upcoming Thursday…but alas, life goes on. This weekend was snuggly for us, and good thing! Because it will be our last normal weekend for a while. I’ll explain Thursday, but for now, I’ll tell you about the past few days.
Friday Ethan was off for a training holiday so we had a dinner-and-a-movie date at our place (with Simon too of course). We rented The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. It was nice cuddling up on the couch together and sharing in some laughs. Saturday felt like Sunday to me of course, but was bright and sunny and wonderful. I spent a lot of time cleaning and sprucing up our place and then took Simon for a walk, which ended up being only fifteen minutes long because someone made me carry him! After that Simon and I enjoyed the sun from our bed, where I prowled Pinterest and he napped. After munching and watching some of The Princess and the Frog, we stayed up late to watch The Prestige. Although I’ve seen that movie many many times, I can say it still shocks me…for some reason I can never remember those important little details. We slept with the windows open and besides loud people in the parking lot below, it was a wonderful way to end the day.
Sunday was all business once again, with a bubble bath for Simon, grocery shopping, and more cleaning. We did treat ourselves to Frosties for Jacob and headed to the airport in the evening to pick up Ethan’s mom for her two week stay. The blue skies went on for miles, such a welcome change to all that rain we were getting. Last week of August, can you believe it? It’s almost Ethan’s birthday month!!!
How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting, or were you caught up in all the back-to-school craziness?
